An Area For Meditation

Everyone needs a place to relax and meditate. Here's some inspiration..
whether its for yoga, spirtual, or just a place to go and relax, everyone deserves a place of their own. In our apartment we are going to have to settle for a corner of a room, or in our loft, but when we move into our house I'd like to make an entire room devoted to meditation and peacefulness




I will be attending my first time at the Buddhist church on Sunday July 12th. I want to explore religions and decide what is best for me. Jeff has agreed to go but not the first time, he wants me to go first and see if I like it, then if I do, he will try it. We both agree with the beliefs and values of buddhism and we want to grow together spiritually and raise our future children around set morals and values with positive influences around them. I'll be sure to blog about how that goes! My cousin, Sister, Mother, and Sister In Law have agreed to go with me.

Living Room Furniture

We've decided on our living room furniture! We will be buying it in mid/late august hopefully we can catch a Labor Day sale!




And I gotta have the grandfather clock!

This vacuum really sucks!

And in a good way...or at least we hope! We have decided that it is officially worth it to spend the money and get a decent vacuum that will last us a long time! We were between several different ones, but in the end we've decided on the Dyson Ball All Floor Model :) Its going to be great for dog hair, carpet, and wood floors when we move into the house next year!

Our Home in 2 Years

This is my dads house. In about a year and a half when my sister goes off to college, my dad wants to sell the house. Instead of losing money by selling it, Jeff and I are going to move in. We still have to figure out all the logistics, like exact move in date, who will pay the taxes, if we will pay the mortage company or pay dad (basically rent it, because I think then Dad would getting Renters Benefits like extra money at tax time etc)but we are so excited.

When thinking about a house, we wanted wood floors, a fireplace, a gorgeous yard, a garage, a nice neighborhood, ranch style, not too big, not too small. Everyone of my preferences really came from growing up in this beautiful home and so when he said we could take over payments, It was perfect!

There will be some remodeling to the kitchen and a fence put up on the back yard, we are also going to get wood installed in the three remaining carpeted rooms. It will definately be a place to call home.

Gorgeous Dog Houses

I have two cocker spaniels, and they are spoiled brats! When we move into our house, I am thinking about building them a dog house fit only for royalty :) Here are some great ones I came across on google... and yes, that dog house does have a little doggy pool!

Dream Bathroom!

Tonight, we talked to my dad about taking over payments on his house next year when my sister goes to college (we've been talking a long time about this) he says he's dead serious about this and to plan on moving in next fall like september 2010!

Living in a house means we can do some remodeling and I can finally have my dream edgy/zen bathroom! We are super excited!

New Guest Room Decor!

I've decided that there's just no way I can pull off the india room without it looking like a teenage girls canvas, so I've decided to go with something more neutral and calm. We are going to do three walls in a gorgeous tan color and one wall in eggplant purple. I'm much more excited about this, and I can see this coming together SO much better.

KoKo Company Home Decor

I love this company, KoKo company. Way out of my price range for basic home decor, but the colors are awesome and the designs are fantastic. It's exactly what I want for our guest room, I am looking for cheaper options though.

All of their items are made of natural fibers, and the companies purpose is to bring more of the world into our homes and spread different cultures! Maybe one day I will be able to afford a pillow for $100 dollars lol

Time for Paint!

We found out last week that we can paint our apartment! Which means we can customize and add character, and we will be living here for quite a while now. I've taken some before pics and taped the color swatch we will be using to each wall. I'll be sure to post after pics when we are all done!

Crazy Weather In Colorado

Over the last two weeks, the weather has been pretty insane in Colorado. We have had tornados, hail, flooding, etc. Its been scary to say the least. Last Friday we went to Denver to go to Union Station, and while in Denver, we were hit by a major storm.

Here it is rolling in...


And so we decided to head out of denver, and as we were driving it got a lot worse


And we saw a funnel cloud to the west


And then the hail started coming down HARD it looked like snow!


We stopped at petsmart to seek shelter, and after it stopped and we were safe, we had a hail ball fight! lol

Meet My Dogs

These are my Babies, Lili and Charlie. They are our world and oh so adorable! Lili is the brown and white one with the cute blue eye, and charlie is the golden cocker. Lili is Three years old and Charlie is two. They created some gorgeous babies last summer, only one survived and he is now living with the Mother in Law and she loves him to death!
