Finally got my tattoo!

I have wanted this tattoo for about 2 years now. It is a band of human foot prints and dog paw prints going around my wrist. It hurt like hell! It looks fantastic though and I'm so glad I finally got it!

There's nothing like coming home to SWAT

This is how my husband and I spent our day yesterday. He was trapped in the apartment even though they had "evacuated" all the other buildings. I came home from work and talk to a police officer and before I knew it I was rushed into where the SWAT and national guard were. They told me my husband was safe "for now" and I flipped out. Jeff ended up running out of the apartment with the dogs and we ran to my car and left. Didn't come back home till about 2am this morning when it was all over... and I thoght I lived in a nice neighborhood...

This is about 4pm, Jeff took this picture from our bedroom window...

And here is the article in the newspaper this morning

Man may have held 2 hostage
42-year-old arrested after standoff at Longmont apartment

A Longmont man suspected of holding two women against their will and sexually assaulting them Friday night was arrested after a police standoff Saturday.

Cmdr. Tim Lewis said Jimmy Travis, 42, could face two counts each of kidnapping, sexual assault, assault and felony menacing.

Travis

A search of Travis’ apartment found a 150mm artillery shell and some percussion grenades that had been taped together. A 9mm pistol that Travis is believed to have had with him has not yet been found.

Lewis said Travis and the two women all knew each other and had been in his apartment Friday night at the Circle at Lakeshore apartment complex. Police believe that sometime during the night, he threatened both women and refused to let them leave the apartment, then assaulted them.

The women escaped the apartment Saturday and called police at about 1:17 p.m.

“They convinced him that they had some things they needed to do and that they would return,” Lewis said.

Instead, officers and detectives arrived at the apartment complex, where Travis was still holed up. The SWAT team was called at about 2 p.m. after police learned that the man had the gun, was on several medications and had post-traumatic stress disorder. Residents of several neighboring apartments were evacuated during the standoff and acquaintances of Travis warned police of the military ordinance inside.

After nearly four hours, Travis surrendered peaceably at 5:41 p.m. and was taken to the Boulder County Jail. As of 8:30 p.m., police were still searching his apartment.

Wally- Dog for Adoption!

This is Wally. He is a 1 year 3 months old and is a Cocker Spaniel/Skye Terrier mix. He is so much fun and really needs a loving home. He was surrendered because he didn't get along with the un-altered male dog he lived with. So far, we have had him with over 20 dogs and he did great with all of them. Signs show he does good with kids as well! We haven't had him around cats yet but i'm sure he would do good or adjust over time!
For more info contact me, or come visit him at the Boulder Petsmart PetsHotel! He is from the adams county humane society and his adoption fee is $100 dollars. He is up to date on vaccines and neutered.

Busy busy busy!

Wow! It's been awhile since I posted. It's amazing what a difference having a job makes lol. Speaking of the job, I'm loving it! It's a blast and I honestly think I am going to stay with Petsmart for a very VERY long time (dare I say forever?) The people that work there are so passionate about pets, I love being around the animals of course, the pay and benefits are great as well! It's overall a fantastic place to work!

Other than that, Jeff and I have just been getting caught up on bills, hanging out with family and the dogs, and trying to get organized and finally truly settled into married life. Our favorite time of year is approaching (fall). All of our "important" stuff is in this time (My bday, our anniversary, his bday, halloween, etc.) and its my favorite season for so many reasons. The leaves are already starting to change and it's cooling down a lot at night.

Now that I have a job we are ready to buy our new furniture! We have decided on the Trinidad collection from american furniture warehouse. When you first look at it, it may seem weird and possibly loud, but it's totally us and we've been thinking of ways to tone down the chair a bit. Now we just have to decide, red couch? Or tan couch?

What do you think? Red or tan couch?
